Sailor Moon

This is the season that started it all. The first appearance of the Sailor Senshi and their battle against the Negaverse (Dark Kingdom). A teenage girl, Serena (Tsukino Usagi) was given a transformation brooch to make her the "Champion of Justice", Sailor Moon, in the fight to protect the energy of living things on earth. Sailor Moon is later found to be the princess of the Moon Kingdom, Princess Serenity. She is keeper of the Ginzuishou (Silver Crystal). She fights alongside Sailor Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. A 'caped crusader' called Tuxedo Kamen (Tuxedo Mask) fights with and against the Senshi...later to be Prince Endymion (Prince Darien). Everyone dies at the end of the series, but is reincarnated with the power of the Ginzuishou. The main enemy is Queen Beryl and Queen Metallia.

Sailor Moon R (Romance or Return)

The first thirteen episodes are known as the Earl (pronounced "Ail") and Ann arc. The memories of the Senshi are restored so that they may fight the new enemy. They get new attacks and new transformation pens as well. Tsukikage no Knight first appears here. Usagi and Mamoru are reunited in the end. Earl and Ann need human energy to support the Makaiju (Doom Tree), or else they die.
The second part of this series involves the introduction of Chibiusa (the daughter of Usagi and Mamoru, who travelled back in time) and the fight against the Black Moon Family. Sailorpluto appears for the first time in this series as well. Sailormoon and Tuxedo Kamen's future lives as Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion of Crystal Tokyo are revealed. The main enemy is Wiseman (and the Death Phantom). The Black Moon Family is from the 30th century. Basically, they want to take control of Crystal Tokyo in THEIR present time by conquering Tokyo in the past in the 20th century.

Sailor Moon Super

Probably the most intense Sailormoon season to date. The battle this time is against Professor Tomoe and the Death Busters. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune make their first appearance in the series, as well as Sailor Saturn (only briefly however). Chibiusa returns from the future as a Senshi in training, Sailor Chibimoon. A series packed with lots of action, slick animation, and lots of drama. A must see! Master Pharaoh 90 is the big purple baddie here.

Sailor Moon SuperS

This is my least favourite of the series, since it is based mostly on Chibi Usa and the Pegasus (Heilios). The Outer Senshi appear for a SINGLE time in the whole season in the SuperS special. Diana makes her first appearance here as Chibi Usa's guardian cat. She is the daughter of Artemis and Luna. This time, the fight is against the Dead Moon Circus. The Dead Moon Circus is looking to take control of the Pegasus, who hides in peoples' beautiful dreams. They look for him by capturing humans and looking in their heart mirrors, which are in essence, a window to the victim's dream. If the Pegasus is not to be found in the mirror, they move on to another target. And it's not as harmless as you think. The Dead Moon Circus plans to kill each victim to decrease the number of dreams the Pegasus can hide in.

Sailor Moon Sailor Stars

The first six episodes of Sailor Stars are devoted to killing off Neherenia (leader of the Dead Moon Circus) from Sailormoon SuperS. Some consider this to be the "true" ending of SuperS. Then, along comes Sailor Galaxia with her Sailor Anima-mates to wreak havoc on the Senshi as well as the Earth. The Sailor Starlights first appear here as well. The focus is on Star Seeds, and the main villain, Galaxia, wants them. Chibichibi, THE actual Star Seed, makes her first appearance here, as does the messiah, Eternal Sailor Moon.
